Dajuan Robinson
Licensed contractor, investor, developer,
Dajuan Robinson is a licensed contractor, investor, developer, and entrepreneur. His curiosity for real estate started at 7 years old as he assisted his great grand father with rehabbing commercial properties he owned on the south side of Chicago. His passion for the industry was further ignited at Chicago Vocational High School as an architectural drawing major. It was one of his teachers who challenged Dajuan to couple his skill in architecture with an elective in carpentry. Little did Dajuan know that this advice would be the catalyst for furthering his real estate journey. Dajuan’s innate skill in carpentry afforded him the opportunity to be taken out of class to fix things around the school. This led to the assistant principal hiring him to work on a project at her home. From there, word of mouth traveled fast where Dajuan received calls from the entire block and friends, and family to work on their projects. Once Dajuan graduated from high school, he already had extensive experience and a clientele working on rehab projects.
Dajuan has worked on 100’s of projects from cosmetic rehabs to gut rehabs totaling $26MM in project budgets and creating $42MM in after repair value. As Dajuan continued to increase his clientele, he noticed the variance in his profit margin compared to the real estate investors who employed him. From there, Dajuan was determined to work for himself. While working a fulltime job, Dajuan acquired his first investment property and completed the gut rehab where he earned a profit of $130K. His investment strategy consists of fix and flips and buy holds of 1-4 and multifamily properties where he can create value in distressed neighborhoods. Dajuan has also entered the new construction space where he’s completed his first ground up construction in record timing of 6 months.
Dajuan has been highlighted in Essence Magazine, Chicago Crains, Chicago Suntimes, Chicago Southsider, Chicago Tribune, WVON, and ABC news as a host of other outlets as part of being a part of the “Buy Back the Block” initiative where he is developing land in a historically disinvested neighborhood that’s revitalizing the community, creating workforce housing, and creating 100’s of local jobs.
While Dajuan has had a successful real estate career, he recognizes how beneficial it would have been to have mentors guiding him along the way. Dajuan is now sharing the knowledge he's gained in his "The Real In Rehab" Mentorship Course where he covers everything from designing your team, setting up your business entities, evaluating what is a “good deal”, securing financing, and managing the project. His goal is to streamline the process and answer the million dollar question that he continues to be asked “how do I get started in real estate”? In addition to the mentorship course, Dajuan also volunteers at local schools to educate students on careers in real estate.
Dajuan is the CEO of DNA Construction where he prides himself on putting his personal touch and dna into every project he works on. He is also a certified minority business enterprise “MBE” and certified contractor for Neighborhood Housing Services “NHS” and Community Investment Corporation “CIC”.
