James Phelps
President,
JCP Construction
James Phelps is the President of JCP Construction, bringing more than 27 years of experience across residential and complex commercial projects. In this role, he leads the company with a focus on delivering projects that consistently meet cost, schedule, and quality commitments.
A graduate of Marquette University’s ACRE Program in Commercial Real Estate (2005), James has advanced through a range of field and project management roles, gaining expertise on projects from $100,000 to more than $500 million. Under his leadership, JCP has contributed to many of Milwaukee’s most transformative developments, including the Bader Philanthropies Headquarters, Northwestern Mutual Tower & Commons, MSOE Soccer & Parking Facility, Fiserv Forum, The Baird Center, and Frank Productions’ Entertainment Venue.
In addition to his work at JCP, James manages a growing portfolio of real estate investments where he leverages his expertise to identify and reposition value-add assets. His approach blends disciplined financial analysis with a deep commitment to neighborhood revitalization, positioning Pheldyn as both a competitive investment platform and a catalyst for inclusive urban development.
Beyond his professional and investment leadership, James is an active civic and business leader. He serves as Chair of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive BID #8 and sits on the boards of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Association of Commerce and Radio Milwaukee.
James holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (’08) and is a LEED Accredited Professional, underscoring his dedication to sustainable building practices.
